Vegan zombie wear!

The above was just too good to ignore. If you enjoyed the awesome Zombie Food Pyramid, you might want want to get out the wallet for some vegan zombies. It makes sense -- while it might not be a cerebral meal, why can't the world have vegan zombies who want ... GRAINNNS!? I mean, non-meat eaters might like zombies too.
The design is currently in the running over at Threadless, courtesy of the punning mind of Dennis Culver. Basically, the site allows you to submit your ideas and designs, and then they pick which ones they want to make. I doubt GRAINNNS won't make it, but you could always go and give it a little love.

Undead Twist on the Food Pyramid

The FDA's food pyramid has helped people from all walks of life decide what to eat every day. Now, however, there is a new walk of life, or I should say unlife, that will benefit from the pyramid. The Zombie food pyramid sets new guidelines for the undead in their insatiable pursuit of sustenance.
There's only one problem with it: Zombies like brains the most, so why is it the base group? Live humans have to consume fats and sugars sparingly. I think the FDA got it wrong when they put the food that zombies crave as the one they can eat the most. That's like saying you can eat 6-11 servings of ice cream a day!
I'm going to start a letter writing campaign to the FDA telling them they're wrong (like they don't get any of those). One of the pyramids needs to be changed. Either I get to eat 6-11 servings of sugar/fat a day or zombies need to gnaw sparingly on brains. I don't know how many zombies are out there, but I'm hoping for the ice cream so they get to keep the brains. Mmmmmm brains.

Amy Sedaris does Halloween!
As readers of our TV Squad blog know, I'm a huge Amy Sedaris fan. She has a new book out that is not only "good," it's fantastic. A cookbook/entertaining book that isn't just all humor. It's a book you can actually use. It has some great idea, recipes (a couple hundred, actually), great pics. A lot of thought went into it. Oh, and it's funny as hell too.Over at Gourmet magazine, they asked her to give some tips for the perfect Halloween celebration. It includes a discount movie theater dinner party, a meal made to be eaten in the dark (meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and corn - you don't have to see it to eat it), her famous cupcakes, and drinks (Bloody Marys and Zombies, of course). She even likes to have her Halloween night guests carve a pumpkin.
