Most people know that when wine has a chance to breathe, it's an overall better experience. Yet, for numerous reasons, the majority of people don't do it. Whether it be a lack of a decanter or last minute company, the excuses pile up. Here at AOL Food, we are big fans of instant gratification. We realize time is precious and it simply comes down to what makes life easier for us, without sacrificing quality and taste. So when Vinturi landed on my desk, my curiosity was sparked. Vinturi is designed to accelerate the traditional aeration process. Users simple hold the sleek accessory over a glass or decanter and pour the wine through it. The unique design creates an increase in the wine's velocity as it is poured, and at the same time, a decrease in its pressure. This pressure difference draws in air, which is mixed with wine, allowing the wine to breathe instantly.
Inventor and CEO, Rio Sabadicci, developed this unique product that "combines form and function to enable consumers to fully enjoy their wine from the very first sip and enhance the wine experience."
Of course this called for a taste test. I grabbed the cheapest bottle of wine I could find and my fellow editor and I headed to the kitchen with our wine glasses.
Our test results after the jump.
