Meat Madness: Vote for Your Favorite Meat!

WC Fields once said "I love children ... if they're cooked properly." As a dedicated meat eater, I tend to have similar feelings about vegans.

While some of my best friends deny themselves the joy of animal products, I simply can't imagine completely divorcing myself from cheese, honey, milk and all the wonderful foods that come from animals. On some level, the idea of approaching life from a tofu haze seems almost suicidally self-abnegating.

In fact, while I have occasionally practiced vegetarianism, I am, at heart, a true carnivore. For health reasons, I try to limit my consumption, but I believe, both philosophically and sensually, that meat is an important part of my diet, if not everyone else's.

But which meat is the best? For health reasons, I'd probably go with chicken or turkey, but if it came to richness, my answer might be duck or veal. In terms of flavor, the answer could be lamb or beef, but for extravagance, it's hard to top a nice big buffalo filet mignon. Then again, in the summer, nothing beats a good grilled swordfish steak ... except for maybe a piece of lightly seared tuna.

Vote for your favorite meat after the jump.

World's largest six pack of beer

Picture of the world's largest six pack of beer.
Here's something for all of you who love all things large and beer. As fans of So Good and Fast Food Critic already know, the world's largest six pack of beer can be found in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

The statistics on this six pack are amazing: 688,200 gallons of beer, enough for 7,340,796 cans, "would provide one person a six pack per day for 3,351 years." The six pack was created by the City Brewing Company in LaCrosse.

My only question is did they drink all that beer before it went bad?

Pizza from a vending machine

Wouldn't it be great to be able to get pizza out of a vending machine? I mean, you can get all kinds of other junk food, why not something that's actually satisfying?

You may soon be able to do just that. A company called Wonder Pizza is making a vending machine that cooks a pizza in under two minutes. This is a pretty new company, as evidenced by the fact that half the site is under construction, and it's not available in many places if it's available at all right now.

If vending machine pizza is real, then I hope it's good and that it succeeds. I really like the thought of this concept. What do you think of getting pizza from a vending machine?

*update: Sorry, I didn't check our archives and this gizmo has been covered already. However, doesn't a pizza vending machine deserve to be covered twice? ;)

New Papa John's ad campaign-effective or creepy?

How the new Papa John's ad looks through the peephole on your front door.
While perusing the food blogs tonight, I came across this post from So Good. I really like So Good because it generally focuses on the more humorous food related news. I'm not sure if this latest Papa John's ad is funny or creepy.

The original story is from The Fire Wire, which tells us about the direct marketing campaign the Papa John's is planning on putting into action. The ad is actually a small sticker that is stuck to your front door right under the peephole. The sticker creates an optical illusion that there is a pizza delivery person holding up a box with the local Papa Johns' delivery phone number on it.

I personally think this campaign is really creepy. I don't even like it when businesses leave fliers on my door handle or tucked in the screen door. This is going a bit too far for me, but then, I'm generally not a big fan of marketing in the first place. What's your take on this: creepy or cool?
