Kanye West to receive $3900 meal

How far would you travel to have your favorite meal? Or rather, how far would you have it sent? Rap star Kanye West, along with 7 other diners, will be enjoying a feast of Indian food this Wednesday from the restaurant British Raj's, located in Wales, though he will be dining in New York City. The bill for this meal is to exceed $3900.

Even with shipping costs, why is it so much? The actual cost of the food, eaten in the restaurant, would run at about $17.50 per person. However the restaurant's Executive Chef will be accompanying the meal to New York, ensuring quality control, customs clearance, and proper service. The $3900 price tag actually reflects the loss the restaurant will experience during the two evenings the chef will be away. His travel and accommodation costs are extra.

Apparently the dinner will include "onion bhajees, chapati breads, biryanis, pappadums, a specially prepared fish dish and vegetables on the side." Kanye isn't the first to receive this kind of service though. The music promotion company that arranged this dining experience previously ordered food to an after-show party for Snoop Dogg from the same Wales restaurant.

Marijuana-flavored candy - it exists, and Alameda County wants it banned

marijuana-flavored candy

I didn't even know that marijuana candy even existed in the first place, but apparently it does. Last week, supervisors of Alameda County in northern California banned the sale of it.

Parents in Castro Valley complained about the candy when they realized that it had become popular with high school students, especially when celebrities like Paris Hilton and rapper Snoop Dogg endorse the candy. Parents were concerned that the marijuana flavored candy will serve as a "gateway" to illegal drug usage later. The candy manufacturers say that there is no THC present in the candy, the active substance in marijuana.

The ordinance to ban passed 4-0.

Snoop Dogg with Extra Relish, Please

snoop doggs hot doggsThe news about rapper Snoop Dogg signing a deal with Platinum One Media to launch a new line of foot long hot dogs Snoop Doggs isn't droppin' like it's hot off the presses. It came out some time before the holidays in the Boston Herald. However, the fact that the Snoop Doggs will be released into Boston area markets this month - that's hot.

Snoop Dogg has partnered with Franco Petrucci and Jeff Earp for this new hip hop dog venture. Though I question the experience of the leader of Tha Dogg Pound Gang, Earp is the former owner of Joe & Nemo's a popular hot dog business in Massachusetts. I guess Snoop's not messing around.

I'll probably give them a try once they hit the California market. You know, I've gotta support the Westsiiiiiiide and Snoop's from LA (Long Beach, to be exact, but I'm not a fanatic or anything).
