2007 Peeps Celebrity Survey

Yes, you read that title correctly. In case you were blissfully unaware like I was, Just Born, the makers of Marshmallow Peeps, hold a 'Celebrity Survey' every year. Apparently they conduct this survey "to keep up with today's trends and cultures." Maybe it's just me, but I can't recall ever seeing anything other than various shapes and colors of Peeps emerging from their factories depending on the season. If their products have ever actually reflected trends and cultures, it is news to me.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the little marshmallow treats as much as the next person - but there are limits. Though I'm fairly certain this one can simply be filed under "for those that have way too much time on their hands," in the spirit of Easter (or maybe just because it is Friday) I'll let you in on the results after the jump. I apologize in advance.

Jennifer Hudson: free BK burgers for life

If you want free food for life, it seems all you have to do is become a celebrity, mention a fast-food restaurant, (even if it's not in the most positive way possible) and Bam! You are set up. At least that is what happened when former American Idol contestant / Best Supporting Actress winner Jennifer Hudson made a remark about Burger King.

Simon Cowell was disgruntled when Hudson failed to thank American Idol during her acceptance speech at this year's Academy Awards, a stepping stone that certainly helped her gain the role in the movie Dreamgirls. Hudson was having no part of Cowell's criticism though, stating "If I'd been any better at my job when I was at Burger King in my middle teens, I wouldn't be here either, so should I thank them, too?"

Gordon Ramsay: meanest man on TV

Rachael Ray got be one of the most trusted celebrities, essentially, because she is nice. It probably doesn't hurt that she is also cute and friendly, but if she wasn't as nice as she is, she wouldn't be as popular. In fact, people really like their celebrities to seem nice and friendly, with only a few exceptions. The number one exception, the scariest celebrity on TV, happens to be a chef as well: Gordon Ramsay. Ramsay is known for yelling, screaming and occasionally reducing people to tears on his TV shows Gordon's Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen and the F Word. He not only has a bad-boy attitude on TV, but he defends the fact that it - treating other people as though they are completely incompetent idiots - is his true character and not just an act.

If you're curious as to which other celebs made the British list, they included Anne Robinson (#2, from The Weakest Link), Fanny Cradock (#5, one of the first celebrity chefs), and Simon Cowell (#10, from American Idol).

American Idol cupcakes

I heard that fans of American Idol host voting parties after the show airs each week. All their friends and other people from their neighborhoods come over and everyone swamps the phone lines. I have certainly heard of multiple parties in the LA area to support Katherine McPhee, and I have no doubt that similar parties happen for Taylor and Elliot, as well. What better thing to serve at a voting party than American Idol cupcakes? Each of these chocolate-mint cupcakes is adorned with a detailed likeness of an Idol contestant or judge, though Paula, with X's for eyes, is not looking too happy on hers. My favorite is the Simon cupcake, but I would certainly eat any of them, if offered!
