"shops" news and stories

Labour and Wait, London

Labour and Wait, London, E2

I adore quirky little shops like this - Labour and Wait is located at Cheshire Street, E2. The website doesn't list a huge amount but there are a load of gadgets, cooks tools and other quirky items (rope doorstop for £50 guv'?)

One item that I would like to get a closer look at is the 'Plain Cookery Book for the WOrking Classes'. Originally published in 1861 by Charles Elme Francarelli, cook to Queen Victoria. Recipes include 'Baked Bullock Hearts', something delightfully titled 'Sheeps Pluck' and 'Cow Meal Broth'.  Available for just £6.
