I first discovered Breakfast, Lunch, Tea: The Many Little Meals of Rose Bakery last week at Anthropologie (during the same visit when I spotted these very fun measuring cups) and upon my glance, I was completely smitten. This is one of those cookbooks that has the ability to evoke a lifestyle and manner of cooking that is appealing, romantic and totally homey all in one masterful stroke.

I left the store that day and headed straight home to my computer to buy a copy (hey, it was more than $10 cheaper on Amazon than it was at Anthro). When it arrived, I sat down at the dining room table and read it cover to cover. It's been sitting there ever since and I flip through it daily as I drink my morning coffee or as I grab some soup at lunch time.

Written by Rose Carrarini, it is a collection of recipes, pictures and stories from the Paris cafe that she runs with her husband. Most of the food is fairly simple, with lots of pancakes, scones, cakes, pastries, soups and salads. However, the accompanying pictures are enchanting, making me long to toss off the shackles of my regular life and run off to Paris. Happily, having this cookbook in hand means that I can at least recreate some of the tarts and cookies.
