Ready Pac Baby Spinach Recall

Ready Pac Foods is recalling 702 cases of Baby Spinach with Use-by dates of July 4 and July 8 due to possible E. coli contamination. While no illnesses have been reported, the California company has issued this voluntary recall and is working closely with the FDA to protect public health.

The recall extends only to products with these Use-by Dates or Product Codes (11707B, IR127121, 12007B, IR130373) sold in the following states: California, Washington and Arizona.

Ground Beef Recall Expanded

A ground beef recall for more than 545,699 pounds of meat has been expanded to states from North Carolina to Maine on fears of E. coli contamination.

Fairbanks Farms of Ashville, N.Y., expanded its ground beef recall on Monday after learning packages of its meat produced between Sept. 14 and 16 may have been distributed to more states than first thought. The recalled ground beef was sold in Acme, BJ's, Ford Brothers, Giant Food Stores, Price Chopper, Shaw's and Trader Joe's.

Enoki Mushrooms Recalled in Listeria Scare

A Pennsylvania company has recalled packages of enoki mushrooms which they say could be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes.

Phillips Mushroom Farms of Kennett Square, Pa., recalled approximately 7,000 pounds of the slender Japanese mushrooms Sunday, saying batches produced between Jan. 13 and Jan. 30 may contain the organism.

Jim Angelucci, the general manager of Phillips Mushroom Farms, told Slashfood that a batch of mushrooms from Jan. 13 tested positive Friday for listeria, prompting the recall and lockdown of the facility that produces the enoki mushrooms.
