Would you go see a movie about cereal mascots?

QuispWe've had X-Men and The Fantastic Four, so why not a movie about cereal mascot superheroes?

Our sister blog Cinematical has news about a new computer-animated film called Cereal Heroes. It's about cereal box mascots that are accidentally brought to life and have to go on the run and stay safe in the modern world.

This sounds so crazy that it just might work. I'm not sure if I want to see it as an animated film or try to get actors to play the mascots. But if the writing is sharp, this has great satire potential. Imagine the Quisp guy flying around and Tony The Tiger saving the world and the Rice Krispies guys getting into trouble. Maybe Cap 'n Crunch can have a cool speed boat that he pilots to save the day.

Which cereal characters would you like to see come to life in a movie like this?

How much do you know about cereal?

MikeyWow, this quiz over at Mental Floss sure brought back a lot of memories. Freakies Cereal!

The quiz tests your knowledge of breakfast cereals. The questions range from fairly easy (what's on top of the Quisp alien's head?) to outrageously difficult (how many holes appear in a piece of Honeycomb cereal?). But it's a blast from the past for cereal fans or people of a certain age. You'll also find out what happened to Mikey from the Life cereal ad in the 70s and which cereal is 50% sugar.

For the record, I got 12 out of 20 correct.

Breakfast of the Gods

Sure we've all heard that such sugary cereals as Frosted Flakes and Cap'n Crunch aren't the best thing for kids, what with all the tooth decay and empty calories. But here's a new one that's definitely not suitable for the preteen set: Breakfast of the Gods.

No, it's not a breakfast food invented by Erich Von Daniken. It's a sugary serial. I, for one, do find the webcomic suitable for adults, at least those with a certain twisted sense of humor.
