The Queens Birthday Meal

England goes through to the next round of the World Cup, Billie Pipper is leaving Dr Who and the Queen celebrated her 80th.

The meal that had the top chefs in the UK competing for the privilege of creating a dish took place last night. The Queens 80th birthday dinner comprised smoked salmon with blinis, pan-fried turbot with cockles and oxtail, loin of roe venison and custard tart. The competition was covered in previous posts...

The UK press is full of pictures of the dinner but they don't publish these online so the only picture I can find of the meal and of the Queen meeting the winning chefs is on the BBC.
