I'm often surprised to realize that many of the groceries I buy can be simply made at home. I tend to presume that cottage cheese just grows on supermarket shelves, for example, or that making vanilla requires complex machinery. So while it may be more convenient to throw these items into your cart than to cultivate them in your own kitchen, try making any of these eight treats at home the next time you're feeling bold.
If you are tired of buying the same flavors of ice cream all the time, this could possibly shake things up a little for you. Baskin-Robbins has teamed up with Hershey to create Candy Bar Madness ice cream treats - nine different treats that mix various Hershey candy bars (Heath, Kissables / Kisses, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups) into ice creams, shakes, sundaes, and ice cream cakes. 
I snagged a bag of these Reese's Limited Edition Fudge Mini Peanut Butter Cups yesterday while I was shopping at Target. Looking at the bag, there is nothing to indicate what precisely makes them "fudge" flavored and the illustration of the candy looked identical to a regular mini cup. I hoped that they might be dark chocolate coated and bought the bag ($2, on sale).
Unfortunately, the candies are not dark chocolate coated. Instead, they appeared to be identical to regular minis, but with a smell that had a stronger chocolate scent. The taste was basically unchanged, as far as I could tell, but a few people I gave them two commented that they seemed "creamier." I attribute this to the outdoor temperatures of more than 90F, then again, I am not a peanut butter cup expert. Perhaps Cybele could find a bag of these and give them a taste, as she did with the rest of the Reese's line.
Butterscotch sauce is a rich and buttery treat that makes a great seasonal dessert topper in place of chocolate or whipped cream.
