Since 1995, the Immaculate Baking Company has been known for quality baked goods that feature unique flavor combinations and kitschy folk art-inspired packaging. Recently, the cookie that brought us the very delicious Pumpkin Gingerlies decided to push the cookie envelope even further by releasing five varieties of frozen, ready-to-bake cookie dough, made with organic ingredients.
As far as frozen cookie dough goes, these babies are sure winners. They bake up quickly and evenly and have excellent flavor. I could have done with a little more nutty flavor in the Peanut variety, but I'm something of a lunatic when it comes to peanut butter cookies (although with all the news of tainted peanut butter in the news right now, reaching for anything peanut flavored isn't a good bet). My fiancee was a big fan of the Vanilla Sugar variety and looked at me plaintively when we finished eating that package.
They come in packs of 24 and the rounds of dough are easy to break apart, making them kid-friendly and mostly mess-free. I've taken to keeping a package around and baking up three or four cookies at a time for an after-dinner treat. If anyone else out there has tried these, we'd love to hear what you think!
