Macaron de Chèvre - Cheese Course

Photo: Max Shrem

In France, cheese is typically eaten at the end of the meal, and many restaurants even serve it as a dessert. So it's not shocking that when developing a cheese and vegetable (shallots and chives) dish, Fromagerie Foucher's Hugues Foucher would look to the ever-popular macaron for inspiration.

How darling are these chocolate-mint macarons? The dainty, French classic gets enlivened by a chocolate-mint flavoring by blogger Dessert First. Although the imperfections of home-baked goods can be endearing, these perfect little bites are worth marveling over for their smooth peppermint ganache sandwiched between two cookies.

Forget wrapping up store-bought gifts for friends and family. Instead, make your loved ones desserts from scratch this season -- they'll love the personal touch.

We Have a Winner - Dessert Truck

The PAMA/Dessert Truck taste-off results are in and the winner is the PAMA Macaron.
Last month I posted a Tidbit on the Dessert Truck's small partnership with PAMA (Pomegranate Liqueur) and their taste-off for National Pomegranate Month.

The results are in -- please welcome the PAMA Macaron dessert. A trio of the sweet treats retails for just $3 and PAMA will make a donation back to City Harvest, an organization that strives to end hunger in New York City communities, for each one sold between November 17-23.

Considering the editors at AOL chose the Macaron over the Chocolate Lollipop 4-2, we are excited to see it hit the menu board and pleased to see it helping City Harvest.
