Food Porn: Catfish Skewers with Sweet Chili Sauce

I don't often venture into Indonesian cuisine, but this dish prepared by Celeste from Chopstick Cinema is simple enough that it would be a very good place to start. She prepared the dish with catfish, though I'm sure any firm, mild fish would work quite well. The sweet chili sauce is a combination of frozen limeade and sambal ulek, though she does recommend that fresh lime juice mixed with simple syrup could easily be used instead of the lime concentrate.

Caveman's roast duck with mango salsa
Hey, this isn't just another recipe (when you get inside, go to the kitchen and click on the cookbook), it's the recipe for the Roast Duck with Mango Salsa mentioned in that Geico "Caveman" commercial! The one where the Geico rep takes the two cavemen out to lunch to apologize for calling them stupid. One caveman doesn't have an appetite, but the other one says "I'll have the Roast Duck, with Mango Salsa.

Friday Happy Hour: Game day cocktail
Generally on game day the beverage of choice around here is beer, but I decided to be a bit more creative this year. After all, you have to have some touchdown shooters, right? You may notice the blue and orange color scheme, strangely reminiscent of a certain team's uniform that is going to These are very simple to make, though for the sake of the picture I dressed them up a little. If you prefer, keep the presentation in mind for a fancier event and just knock these back in a plain old shot glass.
Ingredients:
1/2 oz Blue Curacao
3/4 oz Coconut Rum
1/4 oz lime juice
Put some ice in a martini shaker and add the above ingredients. Shake and strain into glass of your choice. If you would prefer to make a cocktail instead, simply add the ingredients to a glass of pineapple juice on the rocks.

Colima, Mexico vies for world's largest limeade
Look out Victoria, Australia. The state of Colima, Mexico, has you in its sights. No, they're not looking to attack. Colima wants to beat Victoria's Guinness Record for the world's largest limeade.
Victoria's limeade clocked in at 2,500 liters. Colima is shooting for more than 3,500 liters of Mexican style limeade. It is worth noting that I am becoming thirsty as I write this. In order to prepare the gargantuan thirst quencher, 330 liters of Colima limes will be freshly cut and squeezed before an audience. The juice will then be combined with 56 liters of natural sweeetener and more than 3,000 liters of water.
The drink will be prepared in a plastic container measuring 1.46 meters in diameter and 2.46 meters tall. No word yet as to whether David Blaine plans to submerge himself in the vat of refreshing citrus beverage.
