Need a boost this morning? Try some energy gummy bears

Several different colored gummy bears sitting on a white surface.
If you're not a big coffee drinker, what do you do for your morning wake-me-up? Would you try energy gummy bears?

I would, but then I start my day with a glass of water and a little bit of coca cola. Apparently these Loud Truck Energy Gummies are like "drinking a can of Red Bull", at least that's what they're saying over at Candy Addict. The energy candy is even sold as an energy supplement, not in the candy aisle, and is not for children. Loud Truck Energy Gummies got a good review from Candy Addict, with a good taste and a good energy boost.

It's a new product, but if you've tried these gummies then please share. Do you think they're as good as Candy Addict claims?

Spooky sweets from Moonstruck

Moonstruck Chocolate Co. usually focuses on making some of the most beautiful confections that you're likely to see, with creation designs and precision artistry, but for Halloween, they do something a little different. In the spirit of the season, some of their seasonal offerings look more scary than sophisticated, which we love because it seems a little more appropriate for the holiday. The Halloween Horror Pizza is milk chocolate topped with a chocolate truffle eyeball and some gummy goodies that you wouldn't expect to find on any pizza. The Ivory Skull and Wormy Jack are both filled with gummy candies to give anyone who bites into the chocolate a Halloween trick, as well as a treat.

If you can't make up your mind as to which one you want, you can order a combo pack that contains one of each.

Beer flavored gummies?

Most candy stores - particularly those that display their wares in plastic bins with small scoops to dish the candies into individual bags - stock a wide variety of gummy candies: gummy worms, orange slices, sour cola bottles, etc. Some candy stores in the UK are stocking a more unusual gummy, a beer-flavored one. Dubbed pint pots, after the old-fashioned handled beer glasses, the candies taste just like beer. They are nonalcoholic, but it makes you wonder who exactly these candies are marketed to. I know that I don't see a whole lot of adults perusing the selection at candy stores.

Frankly, these actually seem a bit worse than candy cigarettes, which at least don't taste like the real thing, potentially developing a taste for the product they're based on in young candy-lovers.

Borba: beauty you can eat

Sarah mentioned that studies have recently been done that show chocolate is good for your skin. One beauty company, Borba, took that seriously. They have just introduced a line of chocolate bars that will supposedly clear your skin. The bars are made out of Swiss dark chocolate and are infused with a parented "skin clarifying boost ."

Borba also has a few other edible beauty supplements, like age-defying Acai gummies and jelly beans, both of which are organic candies flavored with Acai, green tea and vitamin C, intended to improve the look and feel of the skin. The company also sells a number of variously flavored waters with different skin rejuvaniting purposes.

Perhaps I'm being too cynical, but I'm not sure that chocolate and gummi candies are going to give me perfect skin. And it is worth noting that products that market themselves as nutritional supplements to not have to have their claims proven by the FDA, so any results are most likely anecdotal. But as long as they taste good, I guess it's worth a shot, right?
