
For years, one of my favorite smoothies from Trader Joe's has been their Green Protein. It is bright green, contains an amazing amount of vitamins and tastes like strawberries. When other people see me drink it, their reaction isn't always so enthusiastic. They comment that they can't imagine drinking something green, and ask if it tastes like grass. I've won over a few converts to the green smoothie side, but my victories are often few and far between.
I am always happy when I see someone else taking up the green smoothie battle and this week Alanna at A Veggie Venture evangelized mightily for our side. She has posted four recipes for green smoothies as well as a list of tips for incorporating greens into the smoothies you are already making. Her recipes make me sort of sad I cooked up all the chard I had around with garlic and onions earlier tonight. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some more so I can test out a few of these techniques.
