Cape Cod Ice-creams

Here is a fun little site - personal recommendations on Cape Cod Ice-cream shops.

It uses the functionality of Google Maps to give ratings for each location. You can also, of course, get driving directions. Each map point links to a blog review. Ben and Bills Chocolate Emporium in 'historic' Falmouth receives a great review - five cones on their recommendation scale. They also recommend the Specials - Buttercrunch in the winter, LOBSTER!!! (yes real lobster) in the summer.

Brussels and Paris Google Maps

Off to Brussels or Paris? Or perhaps you already live there. These two google maps (they are called mashups as they add extra information on top of the standard google map) might just come in handy.

The map for Brussels has a cafe and bar finder and adds locations of wall paintings in the city. The map of Paris is a little more specialised as it shows the location of kosher restaurants in the city plus a selection of famous landmarks and other sights.

London Pubs Google Mashup

Pint Search screenshotAt last a google mashup I (and I expect many others) can use. And use frequently too. This one - and thanks to Google Maps Mania for finding it - covers London and its pubs.

PintSearch.com lists 2000 pubs covering the whole of the capital. Its fully searchable and can even find a pub nearest to any tube station. If only I had access to this before the bloggersmeet with Sam and the UK gang - as finding Gordons Wine Bar on this map was a darn lot easier than wandering around aimlessly!

Ratings and reviews are soon to be added. Each flag on the map with be graded in colour from red (hot) to blue (not).

One for tourists, visitors and the locals.
