Happy National Cheese Pizza Day!

Wow, talk about the ultimate holiday.

Of course, most people don't need a special holiday to celebrate their love of cheese pizza (if I could eat if for every single meal of my life...well, I wouldn't, that would be boring, but it's probably my favorite food). But this would be a good day to make a pie of your own. Hopefully today just happens to be your "cheat day" if you're on a diet.

Here's a bunch of cheese pizza recipes, from Jeff Varasano, MealsMatter, MyRecipes, RecipeZaar, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril, and Rachael Ray.

Of course, if you don't want to make your own and want to call Pizza Hut or Papa John's or maybe go the store and buy a frozen Mystic or Freschetta or even Ellio's, well, that's OK too! And don't forget the posts from our Pizza Day celebration.

Real Simple's frozen pizza picks

We looked at some of the best and worst frozen pizzas a while back, but as tastes change and new products become available all the time, so it never hurts to add new items to the list. Real Simple put out their top three frozen pizzas and only one of them was on our first list. The pizza that we both liked was from Amy's Organics, which was a runner-up in the tasting, but American Flatbread was their top pick. It had an "artisanal crust" and "amazing" taste, according to their panel. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available in all stores, since a quick poll of frozen pizza fans revealed that some had never heard of this brand. It is definitely one to keep your eyes out for.

The other runner-up was Chef Antonio Pizza, which is sold at Whole Foods and some other natural foods stores. Its defining characteristic is that the pizza is square, not round, though that doesn't seem to impact the crispy crust or well-matched toppings in any substantial way.

Fat free pizza?

To dieters, one of the most-missed foods in their life is pizza. A pizza is filled with fat and carbs, in addition to flavor. Pizza is something best avoided entirely, especially since a serving is often only a slice. Even most "individual sized" pizzas contain two to four servings. But dieters everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief because there is a fat free pizza.

Yes, you read that right.

A company in Ohio called Pizza Free has been making fat free pizzas since 1991. Each of their 7-inch plain cheese pizzas (which can be topped with anything you like) contains a mere 212 calories, is low in carbohydrates and is made with real dairy cheese, not a substitute, that they somehow remove the fat from. Not surprisingly, the process is their secret, but it seems to be working. They've been recommended by Hungry Girl, Men's Health Magazine, USA Today and other publications and have a page where you can compare their nutritional statistics to other pizza brands.

Compared to the prices for individual frozen pizzas at the market, these aren't too expensive, especially since shipping is included, though you do have to buy them 6 at a time. Before I make the investment, has anyone tried these? Are they worth it?

It's not delivery its… Slashfood's Ate (8): best and worst frozen pizzas

Say what you will about them, but frozen pizzas are a staple component of many, many kitchens. They take no preparation and heat up wonderfully in the oven in the amount of time that it would take to have a pizza delivered. Well, some of them heat up wonderfully. There are some pizzas that are not even worth turning on the oven for.

In my opinion, the best frozen pizza is a homemade one, but I know that not all people have the time or energy to freeze their own, unbaked pizzas. Fair enough, even though you can buy pre-made, uncooked dough at many supermarkets nowadays.  Though certainly not covering all of the possible options for frozen pizza that there are, here is a quick guide to some of the pizza choices that will be waiting at your fingertips when you take a stroll through the freezer section:
