Peet’s Coffee & Tea is a California coffee chain that began
in Berkeley on the corner of Walnut and Vine Streets in 1966. The chain has grown into not only a local favorite, but
something of an icon for quality coffee and teas. They proudly assure customers of their commitment to quality with every cup they serve. This April, they are
celebrating their 40th anniversary by giving away some free
coffee to customers. From April 3-30, from 1 to 3 p.m., Peet's baristas will be offering up free samples of brewed
coffee and tea. Customers who purchase fresh beans, whole or ground, on Fridays in April will also receive 1/2 pound of
fresh beans free with their purchase.
There are now Peet’s locations in Seattle, Portland, Boston, Denver and Chicago, in addition to Northern and southern California. Look up the one nearest you and plan to stop in this month

stop by a Starbucks between 10-12 today, March 15th. If you didn't catch our notice last week, Starbucks is
hosting a Coffee Break. Every Starbucks will be giving out free tall-sized, 12-ounce regular coffees to anyone who
drops by. This may not apply to Starbucks locations that are in supermarkets or bookstores, because they are not
operated by the Starbucks corporation, but licensed to the stores they are located in - so make sure you are at a
regular Starbucks location. If you are nice to the baristas, they may even have some samples of their favorite pastries
to pass out!
On Wednesday, March 15th, Starbucks will host a nation-wide coffee break. At stores across America,
from 10am to noon, Starbucks baristas will be giving out free tall cups of freshly brewed coffee. There will also be
coffee-experts on hand to answer questions about the coffee itself or the brewing process, as well as any questions
about brewing at home or the specialty drinks on the menu. For reference, the "tall" cup size is 12-ounces
and the drink served will be black coffee, not lattes, though the condiment bar will be available for those who take
cream and sugar.
