Dick Sargent's Chinese Chicken Salad

BewitchedTime again for another concoction from Frank DeCaro's archive of recipes from celebrities of the past and present (and future, I guess). This one comes from Dick Sargent (that is the correct spelling of the name, by the way), who replaced Dick York as Darrin on Bewitched. A lot of people prefer York to Sargent, but I like both of them equally. They both put their own spin on the character.

The recipe for Chinese Chicken Salad. I don't think I've ever had rice sticks and I had deep frying stuff myself, but that's one of the things you have to do to make this.

Katharine Hepburn's Brownies

Katharine HepburnYes, that's right, Katharine Hepburn's Brownies. Academy Award-winning actress, outspoken author, and apparently someone who liked her brownies.

This is another recipe from Frank DeCaro's endlessly fun site, which includes a section of recipes from celebrities. I've posted several here, including Bea Arthur's Good Morning Mushroom Toast, Moby's Pan Bagna, and Dame Edna's Aftermath Quiche. After you make one of those, this would make for a good dessert or snack.

Moby's Pan Bagna

MobyI often feature celebirty recipes here, and most of them I get from Frank DeCaro's very cool site. It's always interesting to see not what celebs eat, but what they actually take the time to make themselves. I think it would be great to see Joan Collins making grilled cheese sandwiches, for example.

This recipe is from musician Moby, and it's chock full of veggies: olives, peppers, onions, tomatoes, arugula, etc. All put inside a nice loaf of ciabetta bread and topped with olive oil and spices. Full recipe after the jump.

Dame Edna's Aftermath Quiche

Dame EdnaI'm not really sure what to make of this recipe from iconic British Australian comedienne (comedian?) Dame Edna. It's for Aftermath Quiche ("Aftermath" as in what you should eat the morning after a late night party), but some of the instructions are rather vague. "Assorted canapes and party leftovers in general?" What exactly does that mean? Can I throw in vegetables? Party dip? Leftover chili? Candy corn?

Looks interesting though. Full recipe after the jump (and check out the other cool celebrity recipes at Frank DeCaro's site).

Bea Arthur's Good Morning Mushroom-Tomato Toast

Bea ArthurI have this interest in celebrity recipes that I can't explain. Maybe I just like to picture TV and movie stars with an apron on in their kitchen, making salads and homemade ice cream and basting turkey, happily serving their guests. I did a big post a while back about Frank DeCaro's site, which has a bunch of recipes from various personalities, from Burt Reynolds to Vanna White.

After the jump is a recipe from Golden Girl Bea Arthur. Maybe it's something you'll try this morning.
