Food Porn Daily: Blueberries and Raspberries

I am officially ready for spring to arrive. We've had little tastes of sunny, balmy weather out here in Philadelphia recently and it makes me long for warm days and farmers markets full of fresh, amazing produce. This picture of pints of blueberries and raspberries takes me straight to those summer days of bountiful fruits and vegetables. I want to crawl right in.

Today's Food Porn Daily image is coming to you just as much because I'm intrigued by the recipe as because the picture is appealing. I tend to think of hummus and garbanzo beans as a food best kept strictly savory. My unimaginative food brain would never have thought to take it in a different, sweeter direction. Food Porn Flickr Group

Some time ago I set up a flickr group for food pron photos. The original intent was to use the group to add any pictures to a streaming RSS feed - yeh, geeky stuff - but for one reason or another it never happened. Instead I opened the group to all with the instructions that, true to its name, it would be for food bloggers to link to their best posts.

It is turning out to be a nice little treasure trove of links to an interesting group of bloggers and their recipes. I find I am using it to discover great recipes more than my RSS reader! Recently for example MeetaA has added a nice picture of lentils leading to a spicy daal recipe. Then MatthewA posted this image of snails, admittedly not something I actually eat, but it led me to his blog (Matt Bites) for the first time. The there is Alicat3 who doesn't appear to have a blog but posts some great quick recipes under her photos such as this prawn taco recipe.

Friday Food Fiesta

Friday Food Fiesta is one of the thousands of groups that inhabit Flickr. Obviously your first port of call in flickr is the SlashFood pool and the foodography group; but FFF looks interesting.

Each week a different theme is set and you submit one photo to fit the theme. They are in the middle of sandwiches at the moment and in the past have clicked around with coffee and sandwiches. Plenty of mouthwatering images. Unlike foodography it is just about posting an image rather than receiving a critique and trying to improve ones photography techniques.
