Chef makes bride a cream puff dress

Millions of women love cream puffs and a good number of them wouldn't mind having a croquembouche - tower of cream puffs - at their wedding. Very few would actually want to be a croquembouche. Ukrainian pastry chef Valentyn Shtefano made his wife's wedding dress entirely out of cream puffs and caramelized sugar. It took over 2 months to make and used 1,500 puffs. Despite the fact that it appears to be heavy, the dress weighed only 20 pounds. Shtefano is a well-know figure in his town due to the elaborate desserts that he makes "in a place where cake is often layers of heavy cream, wafers and nuts or poppy seeds - more something to eat than to look at." His creations, like the dress, are both.

Dress like a cow, get a free meal

I'm sure there are some Chick-fil-A fans out there. The question is, are you that hard up for a free chicken sandwich that you'll dress up like a cow on Chick-fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day, July 14? For the second year in a row, the fast food chain is offering a free combo meal for anyone who comes into a location dressed like a cow ("cow spots head to toe"). An FAQ from last year's event explains that "partial cow attire" will only get you an entree, not a combo. If anyone plans on participating, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take some pictures and comment with links.

Fast food fashion

As if the Whopperettes weren't bad enough, food-as-clothing hit the catwalks in New York's Fashion Week. Designer Jeremy Scott seemed to decide that the world's selection of fast food-themed clothing was sorely lacking, as he turned cloth versions of packages of French fries and hamburgers into dresses and sweaters. Of course, the French fry packet dress might be an actual "super size" wrapper from McDonald's, filched before the fast food giant eliminated the size, since the real box was probably large enough to fit one of the Mr. Scott's models. Several other pieces in the collection were also food inspired, such as an ice cream cone dress and a pizza robe/dress.
