Hump Day Happy Hour: The Blushing Lady

PAMA Pomegranate LiqueurIt's more fun if you say it like Jerry Lewis: "Blushing LAYYYDEE!"

This is The Blushing Lady, which is made with grapefruit juice, vodka and pomegranate liqueur. It's called that because of its pinkish color, and it certainly seems like the perfect drink for the lady in your life on Valentine's Day.

After the jump, the full recipe, along with a another drink you can make with the pomegranate liqueur above.

Friday Happy Hour: June Bug

MidoriI've seen a dozen different recipes for this drink. Almost all of them feature Midori and a harder liquor, but a lot of them don't go beyond that and a little pineapple juice.

But this recipe at DrinksMixer.com goes a bit further. The midori is there, but is adds a lot of fruit to the mix: peach schnapps, creme de bananes, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice. 29 Healthiest Foods, in video form!

If you had asked me 15 years ago what I thought the healthiest foods were, I probably would have said salad, pasta, bread, rice, and water. If you had asked me 35 years ago, I probably would have said Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Quisp cereal, pretzels, Pepsi, and Sara Lee pound cake.

We've talked a lot about healthy foods before, but never like what you'll see after the jump...in video form! The video isn't the best quality, and waiting 30 seconds for the next food to be listed is rather annoying, but the info is interesting. Besides, it's like a game. You can take those 30 seconds to place bets with your friends! What will be next in the video...apricots? Avocados? Broccoli? Read on...

Friday Happy Hour: The Santa Claus Metropolitan

SantaOK, so this might be a week or so late, but some of us are still in the Christmas spirit, right? Well, if you're not, maybe you can check out this drink and get back in the Christmas spirit! Or maybe as a way to toast the holiday season goodbye until next time.

It's called the Santa Claus Metropolitan, and I got it from Dale Degroff's excellent web site. He's known as "King Cocktail," and it's easy to see why. He's got a lot of drinks there that I've never even heard of before, in addition to all the classics and twists on classics.

Read on for the recipe:
