Trying to lose a little weight by cutting back on fast food and eating smaller portions? Now you can, literally.

A very crafty woman responded to a "craft challenge" and created a teeny tiny Splenda-packet-sized tray of fast food. Tiny replicas of food are nothing new, but when the replicas are made with real food and are actually edible, that's quite an achievement! The craftser used tiny pickles, tomatoes, and the innermost rings of onions, but made the bun, the burger patty, and French fries herself. Her husband fashioned the tray from clay. The photo here shows just how small the entire tray is, but a super close-up of the tiny burger on the craftster forum is incredible. You would never guess that the burger fits on your fingertip.

When my girlfriend showed me pictures of knitted cupcakes in a book of knitting projects, I just sort of chuckled. Today, when I came across an enormous list of food-related crochet projects, like the eggs and bacon you see here, I was forced to grapple with the fact that this is an entire genre. I know that there's definitely some overlap between the food bloggers and the craft/knit/crochet bloggers, and I'm sure some of you fall into both categories. Personally, when I see a knitting needle I'd rather put some shrimp on it, but nevermind that. There are some pretty creative and bizarre projects out there.
