Ever had a hankering for poo-flavored gelato? Complain and ye shall receive!

pooIf you're easily susceptible to complaint backlash fear, you might not want to read on.

Down Under in Sydney, a family was at the Coogee Bay Hotel pub itching to watch some rugby. But the music was too loud for them to hear the televised game. Understandably, they complained. In response, the family received some free gelato for their aggravation. How sweet, right? Not quite. It tasted funny -- a familiar kind of funny. Rather than complain again, they got their free "gift" tested, and the results came back with a big stamp of "poo."

Now the Australian Food News reports that the NSW Food Authority's tests have come to the same conclusion, so now the sample will be tested to see if the fecal matter is from a human or animal. The hotel is refuting the allegations, but the test speaks for itself. Someone contaminated that supposedly thoughtful free gift.

Personally, I already have a bit of a complaint monitor -- always on to see if my complaint is worth the possible outcome. Now with fecal matter in the mix...

Some 'McRules' for McDonald's

I posted about McDonald's Talk, a LiveJournal community of McD's employees, back in March, but I hadn't looked at it lately. Fast Food News recently posted an excerpt from a list of "things not to do when visiting a mcdonalds" created by McDonald's employee in Louisiana and recently posted on McDonald's Talk. Perhaps my favorite of the nearly 50 subtle suggestions is: "Does this look like Toys-R-Us? Who cares if your kid's got 10 of the same toy already. That's telling me you don't feed them at home enough!" Some commenters to the original LJ post even included links to their own lists of McDon'ts, like this one.
