
While Pinkberry still hasn't made it to Philadelphia, I managed to grab my first taste of the much-heralded frozen yogurt while I was out in Los Angeles back in September. When I was growing up, some close friends of my parents had their own small chain of frozen yogurt locations (Humphrey Yogart, anyone?), so after years of eating their gourmet yogurt, I came to fancy myself as something of an expert frozen yogurt taster. Because of that, I walked into Pinkberry with a critical mind and high hopes.
While it wasn't anything like what you could get at Humphrey Yogart, I was impressed by the available yogurt flavors and the world of toppings to choose from. I particularly liked the coffee flavor (I like just about anything that tastes like coffee). Sadly, it seems that it was my first and last opportunity to try the coffee yogurt, because as of November 20th, Pinkberry is setting it out to pasture.

We love coffee - a sentiment that most bloggers probably share - but you cannot subsist on coffee alone and the pastries at coffee shops often leave much to be desired when it comes to flavor, as well as a little extra that we don't desire around our waists.
