This lighter variety of the brownie is similarly chewy and dense, but instead of relying upon chocolate as the main flavoring, uses different seasonings, namely those of vanilla and butterscotch, and a range of additions (nuts, chocolate, etc). As Deb from Smitten Kitchen notes, the beauty of the blondie is that it's "infinitely adaptable," as is her recipe -- although it stands divine as is.
