Oreo Cupcake with Built-in Milk - Feast Your Eyes

oreo cupcake with interior milk cup
Have you guys seen this yet? I think it's one of the most brilliant cupcakes that Stef from The Cupcake Project has thought up yet. She's made an Oreo cupcake (topped with homemade mini Oreo-style cookies) and has inserted a small chocolate cup into the interior of the cake, to hold a small shot of milk. If you need to see some other angles on this cupcake, click here to see the shot of milk in all its cookie dunking glory.

Thanks Stef!

Feast Your Eyes: Toasted ravioli cupcake

toasted ravioli cupcake
Our very own Stef (also of the Cupcake Project) continues to outdo herself in the cupcake creativity department, this time conjuring up a toasted ravioli cupcake for St. Louis website ToastedRav.com. They asked her to do a feature for their site, assuming that she'd make a meat cupcake (which she has done). Instead, she opted to create an apple cinnamon concoction (making her own sweet filled ravioli).

Thanks to Stef (and her photographer husband Jonathan), for adding this pic to the pool.

Feast Your Eyes: All American BBQ cupcakes

all american bbq cupcakes
These smokey chocolate cupcakes (with a sweet corn frosting) comes to us from our very own Slashfoodie Stefani Pollack. She made these patriotic treats for her Memorial Day celebration last May, but I thought they were also good for today, this holiday dedicated to working people taking a day to rest and relax.

I hope you're all taking the opportunity to break from your labors today. We'll also be taking a bit of a break, so posting will be a bit lighter than normal for a Monday. Happy Holiday!

Feast Your Eyes: Raspberry lemon chocolate cupcakes

raspberry lemon chocolate cupcakes
Today's Feast Your Eyes image comes from our own Stefani Pollack. In addition to her Slashfood duties, she also is the blogger behind the Cupcake Project and so is always on the hunt for new, different and delicious cupcakes. This picture is from a batch of Raspberry Lemon Chocolate Cupcakes that look and sound amazing. Would that I could reach through the computer screen and into her kitchen.

Stef has a full accounting of the creation of these cupcakes over on her blog. She explains there that she was trying to capture the flavor combination of a particular Vere chocolate bar. Sounds like I need to get my hands on some of that chocolate!

20 questions with a Slashfoodie: Stefani Pollack

When new bloggers join the Slashfood team, we like to make sure they get a proper introduction to our readers. You've met Julie Tilsner, Bob Sassone, Ellen Slattery, Shayna Glick, Sarah J. Gim and Alanna Kaufman. Now meet the latest addition to our team, Stefani Pollack. -- Marisa McClellan

Do you have a personal blog?
Yes. I write Cupcake Project. I am making cupcakes for a friend's wedding. Each week, I make them a new cupcake and in the end, they'll get to pick which three flavors they want at their wedding. Their wedding will be the second wedding I have baked for. The photo above is from the first one.

What is your day job, or rather, what do you do when you're not food blogging?
I develop training materials for corporations. It has nothing to do with food, although I did work for Sara Lee for a while. All employees there got to participate in taste tests, which was a fun way to break up the day.

How long have you been blogging with Slashfood and what is your favorite post?
I've been blogging on Slashfood for about two months. My favorite post so far is, "What we eat may impact greenhouse gas emissions more than eating locally." I liked it because deciding which foods to eat is a topic that I personally wrestle with.
