Say what you will about the boys club marketing theme of Nestlé's British chocolate bar Yorkie, with its packaging bearing such slogans as "No handbags." I've never met one I didn't like. I'm especially fond of the raisin-and-biscuit variety. But Yorkie Honeycomb, with its rich filling of shards of toffee, takes top honors in my book. One variety that gets no love from me, however, is the bizarre creation Yorkie Blue Ice (pictured). If you thing the name makes it sounds like something you're supposed to freebase instead of munch on, you're not far off. The folks at Nestlé must have been smoking something when they dreamed this one up.
The bar is made of the same tasty multisectioned milk chocolate as the rest of the Yorkie family. And, yes, it has a filling. Only this time the folks at Nestlé decided to use small chips of crunchy blue-greenmint candy. The only problem is they taste more like crushed menthol cough drops. I'd rather eat chocolate Velamints.
