The incredibly difficult cereal quiz

While I regularly lose my keys, often misplace my wallet, and have been known to forget my own name, I pride myself on my impressive ability to remember completely random facts. My wife calls me the largest repository of useless knowledge in the Western Hemisphere, and I have to admit that my mind is a steel trap, at least when it comes to completely meaningless trivia.

With that in mind, I was eager to take Mental Floss' cereal trivia test. Having spent much of my youth sucking down mass quantities of sugary slop while watching Saturday morning TV shows, I figured that I could easily take whatever Mental Floss had to dish out.

I received a humbling 50%. If you get a chance, take the quiz and let me know how you did. I need to know if there's anybody else out there who's feeling the icy hand of trivial humiliation!

Around here, we're all about taking quizzes (at least I am). I just can't seem to say no to something that wants to test my ability to guess the correct answer, and over the years I've gotten pretty good at it.

Imagine my delight at finding this quiz over at Mental Floss. Technically, it's a lunch time poll, but it's fun at any time of the day. There are ten questions, and you have to guess which of two items has the higher calorie count. I only got 60% right, so I was a little disappointed (some of the questions are a bit tricky). Take it and see how you do. Then come back and let us know your score in the comments section.

Mikey Wow, this quiz over at Mental Floss sure brought back a lot of memories. Freakies Cereal!

The quiz tests your knowledge of breakfast cereals. The questions range from fairly easy (what's on top of the Quisp alien's head?) to outrageously difficult (how many holes appear in a piece of Honeycomb cereal?). But it's a blast from the past for cereal fans or people of a certain age. You'll also find out what happened to Mikey from the Life cereal ad in the 70s and which cereal is 50% sugar.

For the record, I got 12 out of 20 correct.

Funny quiz over at Mental Floss (actually, it's mental_floss, to be accurate): Discontinued Ben & Jerry's flavor or MySpace band? There are 10 ice cream flavors/band names listed, and you have to figure out which is which.

Rachel's Brownie? Mint Cherry? Coconut Fever? This Is Nuts? Are those ice cream flavors or band names?

I actually got 8 out of 10. I never had any of the old Ben & Jerry's flavors that are listed, but for some reason the names rang a bell.
