Mos Burger, a popular chain with locations throughout Japan, China, and Indonesia, boasts the motto "Making People Happy Through Food." Presumably, the promotion with Mister Donut was designed to do just that, since both burgers and donuts have become big business throughout Asia. A Japanese company bought the Asian rights to the American doughnut chain in 1983, and Mister Donut now has more than 1,000 stores in Japan alone.
But rather than, say, serve donuts at Mos, they've come up with a bizarre burger patty in the shape of a doughnut. A special line of sauces and toppings are placed (where else?) into the doughnut hole. Of course, the patties are pretty much flat, so the burgers resemble brown pineapple rings more than they do doughnuts, but hey, details, details.
