Feast Your Eyes: Tarte au citron et aux framboises

citron tart with raspberries from la tartine gourmonde
Bea of La Tartine Gourmande is one of the most talented food photographers going these days. Her blog is a continual source of inspiration for food bloggers and photographers (and I include myself in that inspired group) and her recipes are reliably delicious. The tart you see above is a fairly simple one, but the way in which she dresses it up turns it into an absolute show stopper.

Bea, many thanks for adding this (and so many of your other lovely images) to the Slashfood Flickr pool.

Feast Your Eyes: Roasted Tomatoes, Red Onions and Arugula Tart

roasted tomatoe, red onion and arugula tart

Here at Slashfood, we are so lucky that La Tartine Gourmande, one of the best cook/food photographers on the web, frequently uploads her pictures to the Slashfood Flickr pool. Her images are always of gorgeous food that is made even more appealing by the settings and dishes she photographs it with. I try not to feature too many of her photos, mostly because she makes the rest of us look bad, but today I couldn't resist this image of a Roasted Tomato, Red Onion and Arugula Tart. This particular image is actually a couple of years old, but as we're heading into the summer tomato season once again, I thought it was the perfect thing to whet your appetite for the cooking to come. You can find the recipe here.

Food Porn: Frozen Lime Souffle with Poppy Seeds

Although I just said that food doesn't have to be gourmet to be gorgeous, it can't hurt. Bea, also known as La tartine gourmande, made this exquisite Iced Lime Souffle with Poppy Seeds, drizzled with a raspberry coulis and served with a side of sugar-marinated strawberries. The full name of the dessert is so descriptive, that the dish almost needs no photo to accompany it. Since it is frozen, there is no risk of the souffle deflating and there is no need to turn on the oven, so it's a great choice of dessert on a hot day. The combination of lime and berries is bright and refreshing to the tastebuds, as the flavors complement each other well in everything that they appear together in.
