Just in time for January's National Soup Month, Jennie over at Straight from the Farm is doing a week-long series on distinctive soups. She went searching through her vast collection of cookbooks, returning to her copy of A Good Day for Soup (a cookbook I don't own, but now intrigues me after reading Jennie's positive description).

So far she's offered up a recipe for peanut soup that I find absolutely delicious-sounding, as well as recipe for chilled tomatillo soup that was a great way to use up some of the salsa verde that she made and froze after the summer harvest. One day she found herself in the paper goods aisle at a local grocery store and wondered if it would be possible to bake a dessert in a non-waxed Dixie cup.
