"HamptonsGin" news and stories

Gin Notes: Hamptons Gin

Hamptons Gin is 47% abv/ 94 proof and packaged in a whimsical, full-bellied flower vase of a bottle that is green with a hint of blue and frosted to look like sea glass. The bottles are hand finished with a stylistic seagull flying in the sky. No two bottles are supposed to be decorated the exact same.

While this gin is distilled in MN in the US, I place this in what I am starting to call the French Gin style. I think it is made with many of the same botanicals as Citadelle and Magellan gins. The nose is very light but with a distinct aroma of flowers and fruit with a hint of spice over a subtle juniper scent. I find it to be much tastier than either of its two stylistic cousins from France. It has a very complex taste that follows through on the aroma with a nice full body of flowers, fruit, very faint citrus and a plethora of spices, all over a mild juniper base. Smooth, light, and very pleasant, the finish is long and strong and sipped straight it has a very strong lip and tongue tingle. It goes well in all the forms, on the rocks, martini, G n T, and I bet it even comes through well in cocktails.
