5 Reasons Why We Love Burger King's NY Pizza Burger

Photo: Sarah De Heer, AOL

In August, we announced that Burger King was launching yet another death-defying sandwich -- the NY Pizza Burger. This behemoth of a burger contains four Whopper patties, slices of pepperoni and mozzarella cheese with marinara and "Tuscan sauce" (which was indistinguishable from the marinara) on a giant sesame seed bun.

While we weren't able to attend the launch, we finally got around to trying it this week, and boy, was it worth the wait. Erik Trinidad of Fancy Fast Food joined us for the task and we were all in agreement -- this was one unforgettable fast food creation.

Coming in at a "whopping" 2,530 calories, 144 grams of fat and 3,780 milligrams of sodium, this burger is meant to feed six people. However, while we were there, we saw two people dig into this thing and finish it. We can't point fingers, but we were only able to get four servings out of it.

Coq Au CheerVin - Fancy Fast Food

Photo: Erik R. Trinidad

If you're a hungry carnivore spending any amount of time in the Carolinas, you will undoubtedly be stuffing your face with signature dishes like Carolina pulled pork or deliciously greasy fried chicken. And while you may enjoy an ice cold Carolina Pale Ale with your meal, the most cheerful way to wash it all down is with a nice glass of Carolina-born Cheerwine.

For all you Yankees who aren't privy to this sweet southern concoction, Cheerwine is a sweet and bubbly cherry soda unlike any other, with a deep burgundy color resembling a fine Pinot Noir. It's a popular soft drink in the south that is more "cheer" than "wine" (and more "cherry" than "cheer"), but we're going to pretend it's Pinot -- it looks like wine when you pour it into fancy stemware anyway.

Soniccian 'Borscht' - Fancy Fast Food

Photo: Erik Trinidad

Unbeknownst to most of the world, there is a tiny Eastern European nation named Soniccia, a country whose traditions have carried on through the ages, even before the bleak days of the Soviet Union. So small that it is barely mentioned as a former Soviet republic, Soniccia strives to sustain a unique national identity in the post-Cold War era, much like its sibling nations -- including Latvia, Ukraine and Georgia. This distinction of national identity is most evident in Soniccian cuisine; while other former Soviet republics' variations of the staple, beet-based soup of borscht remain in the savory category, Soniccia's palate is bit more on the sweet side.

Despite Chipotle's admirable self-proclaimed "F.W.I. (Food With Integrity)" philosophy, which drives them to buy items only from environmentally-conscious farms, the end result still looks like plain ol' fast food. This is where Fancy Fast Food comes in!

'Paella' Yoshinolla - Fancy Fast Food

Erik R. Trinidad

This Valentine's Day, why not spice up your gastronomic love life with a Fancy Fast Food creation. A romantic-looking dinner (emphasis on "looking" since all Fancy Fast Food creations are extreme makeovers of actual fast food restaurant items without any additional ingredients, except for an occasional garnish) is as close as your nearest Japanese-imported chain Yoshinoya. Of course, you could always try to impress your valentine by actually serving this dish -- assuming you don't mind giving the gift of acid reflux. Better tell Cupid to pack the Tums.
