Chocolate vinegar

Venerable French confectioner Chocolat Weiss has added a cocoa-flavored vinegar to its roster of fine chocolates. You heard right, chocolate-inflected vinegar. At $19 a bottle, Vinecao Vinegar is certainly luxury priced.

The company recommends using Vinecao on meat and seafood and says it has a  balance of sweet, sour, bitter and acidic flavors. Oddly enough, they're not the first chocolatier to cook up such an unusual product. Switzerland's Durig Chocolatier Lausanne offers a Chocolate Vinegar that comes with a selection of "original" recipes. One would hope so.
