Robert Irvine to Return to 'Dinner: Impossible'

robert irvine wielding a pepper millLast February, Chef Robert Irvine was removed from his Food Network show, Dinner: Impossible, after it came to light that he had falsified his resume to make his work experience more impressive. Chef Michael Symon was brought in to replace Irvine on the show and the scandal quietly faded away.

Now, in a surprising move, the Food Network has announced that they plan on bringing Irvine back to the show and will be filming six new episodes featured him that will begin airing in March 2009. He says of his return, "I am very excited to continue taping more episodes of 'Dinner: Impossible. I am thrilled to further my relationship with the network and embark on more challenging episodes of this popular series."

Do you think Robert Irvine should keep his job?

Robert Irvine, host of Dinner Impossible.Robert Irvine has gotten himself into a lot of trouble lately. In case you haven't been paying attention to the food blogs, the host of Food Network's "Dinner: Impossible" was caught either lying about or exaggerating his resume (depending on who you ask). He has gotten hos bio pulled from Food Network's website and has been fired from the show.

Well, he must be pretty popular in some sectors, because there is a campaign going on to save hos job. A group called Save Robert Irvine has sprung up and they want you to help keep the chef as host of "Dinner: Impossible). The website suggests going to the Food Network.com's comments section and let them know how much you love Mr Irvine. You can help even more by signing the online petition.

If you think that Robert Irvine is the best host for "Dinner: Impossible" and what he did isn't that bad, then maybe you'd like to help. You can sign the petition today.

Robert Irvine fired for inflating his resume

Robert Irvine Dinner: Impossible pictureThe Food Network announced today that Robert Irvine, host of the challenge show Dinner: Impossible, has been released from his contract and that they will be looking for a replacement host for that show. Irvine has been mired in scandal ever since it was discovered that he lied about his past cooking experience, specifically his involvement with Princess Diana's wedding cake.

I will be really sad to see him go, as I've always enjoyed Dinner: Impossible. I guess the next stop for Chef Irvine will be a reality show, in which his only virtue is that he once had his own television show.

Thanks Barry!

Dinner: Impossible

In January, the Food Network will be debuting a new reality show called Dinner: Impossible. The show features chef Robert Irvine, who has cooked for the British royal family and four US presidents, and his two sous chefs (both named George), all of whom are put into strange situations in which they have to prepare gourmet food while overcoming various obstacles. By obstacles, we're not referring to any Indiana Jones-like traps, but more along the lines of extremely unusual working conditions. For example, one episode will feature the chefs having to shop for and prep dinner for 150, to be served on a train - assuming that they don't get left at the station. Another will feature the chefs cooking with 18th century equipment and utensils, also on a tight timeline. Essentially, the chefs will not know where they are going, where they will be working or who they will be cooking for before they arrive and will have to cook the best food they can in the circumstances. Perhaps the only downside is that, unlike Top Chef, which also features some somewhat extreme cooking situations, no one will be voted off on this show so the only thing that really will keep the chefs motivated is their own desire to beat the odds.
