Take A Cadbury Creme Egg Quiz

What is it about Cadbury Creme Eggs that inspires such devotion? Sure, the chocolate's good, and the vanilla creme inside has the weird-egg-yolk-novelty thing going for it, but is it really any better than say, a Snickers bar? If you're a fan, you're not alone -- the company makes over 300 million of them each year. Surprised? YumSugar's got a fun quiz that reveals even more creme egg trivia.

The Creme de la [Cadbury] Creme Egg

The season is a little off on this one, since we usually save our posts about giant Cadbury Creme Eggs for the weeks just before Easter, but the Creme de la Creme Egg that popped up on Pimp That Snack this month just can't wait that long. The giant Cadbury egg is simply the most impressive candy hack that we've seen - and the users of PTS clearly agree, since it's already the top-rated pimp on the site. Not only is it huge in size, but the level of detail that went in to its construction is hugely impressive. The milk chocolate candy shell was built up in layers to the proper thickness necessary to hold in the filling and the shell was carefully engraved with the same star design that is found on the standard eggs. Multiple batches of fondant were prepared before the gooey white center with a dyed yellow fondant "yolk" was poured into the prepared molds and sealed in. The "pimpers" even made a look-alike giant wrapper using acrylic paints on aluminum foil!

By weight, the jumbo chocolate is 56 times larger than the original. It has approximately 10,000 calories and probably contains enough sugar to make your head spin for a month.

Pimp not only my Cadbury Creme Egg, but my Twix, too!

pimped out cadbury creme eggIf you thought Cadbury Creme Eggs were good enough as they were, and the mini eggs were suitably adorable versions for a kiddie Easter basket, well, then you haven't seen all the hacks making ginormous eggs.

Pimp My Snack took an entire box of regular Cadbury Creme Eggs, cut them open, removed the "yolks," re-molded the chocolate into a giant egg, and created yet another giant Cadbury Creme Egg. Unfortunately, the bidding on eBay for this luscious giant gem has closed.

You think the Cadbury Creme Egg is pimped up? Check out the Mega Twix, about the size of four iPods.

Cadbury Creme Mini Eggs review

Cadbury Creme Eggs just haven't had the same appeal to me since they took the adorable clucking bunny out of their ad campaign. Something about that bunny just made me want to eat a whole, sugary egg. In all probability, age had something to do with it as well. I no longer want to scarf down a large Cadbury Creme Egg when given the opportunity because it almost makes my teeth hurt, though I do enjoy a bite of one every now and again. Leave it to the company to come to my rescue. Their Mini Creme Eggs are just the right size - about 3/4-inch long - to eat in a bite or two. They still have the same sugary fondant filling with the trademark orange "yolk" in the center, but the chocolate-to-filling ratio is much higher than in the larger eggs. The milky chocolate even manages to temper the sweetness just enough to allow me to to indulge in one or two at a time. Cadbury Mini Creme Eggs are definitely a great Easter treat. Maybe I'll reconsider the larger eggs if they bring back that bunny!
