"AnotherPintPlease" news and stories

Oh Brussels sprouts! Your bright green color and tender insides. I love them sauteed, roasted, steamed and shredded and I think they're also one of the more photogenic veggies out there. It appears that Mike from Another Pint Please... is also fond of the sprouts and took some very nice pictures of them. Thanks Mike!

Last week, I wrote about Andreea's fabulous grilled chocolate-stuffed bananas. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet (I spent all my weekend dessert energy on a batch of oatmeal pecan chocolate chip cookies) but Flickr user/blogger Another Pint Please... (aka Mike), the most prolific griller in the Slashfood Flickr pool, saw the post and took on the challenge of grilling up some chocolate-stuffed bananas.

Judging from Mike's results, it looks like this recipe/technique is a true winner. He served his with a side of vanilla ice cream and says that it was very much like an inside out banana split. He's got plans for fancying it up the next time around, using better chocolate and topping it with a sprinkle of toasted nuts. The picture above is the before shot, click here to see the banana after it's been on the grill for a while.

They first thing I thought when I saw this picture was, "OMG, dancing beer can chickens!" Mike had a similar thought, because he named the image, Limbo. Roasting chickens on the grill with beer cans inserted into the cavity is a great way to get a whole lot of flavor into your bird and keep the meat tender and moist.

I think I'm starting to feature images from Slashfood Flickr group member Another Pint Please... on something of a weekly basis. Please don't think me biased, I just can't help but be smitten with this really delicious, crisp picture of grilling corn on the cob. Plus, the thought of a batch of grilled corn and black bean salad just sends my salivary glands into overdrive. Yum!

The weather is nice (at least where I am). It's Friday. Why not break out a grill this weekend and make your own, perfectly melted cheeseburgers?
