SmackDown: Would You Make Your Kid Drink Hot Sauce as Punishment? (ParentDish)
Feb 1st 2011 11:34PM LOL What a nation of busybodies and crybabies we are becoming! Everyone needs to tend to their own house and let the neighbors raise their kids. Beat their asses when they're bad, praise them when they're good. And BTW, 'stickers and gold stars'??? No kid is going to fall for that crap. Raise them with the objective of turning them into smart, caring people who know the difference between right and wrong. Parenting is a dirty job. If you don't want to get your hands dirty, PLEASE don't reproduce! We have enough crazy criminals without another lazy, cowardly parent making more!

Coming Clean With the Truth About the Best Detergents -- Savings Experiment (WalletPop)
Sep 30th 2010 7:35PM Back in the eighties, I worked at Kmart. I was on a tight budget, but bought Tide because it was on sale. I found out why- it was watered down. I was so angry I haven't bought Tide since.

'Oprah Winfrey Show' Fades in Ratings (AOL TV)
Jun 30th 2010 10:44AM THANK YOU! I haven't watched Oprah in many years. I was completely done with her when she said last year that you can have Heaven without God. She's a self-idol. Bleasphemy will get you nothing of value.
As for the Republican party, they got us into this mess and the President is working his butt off to try to get us out of it!!!
Sarah Palin is a cardboard cutout of a woman. She's just a prop to get the Hillary voters. Thank God the Republicans lost...It proves there ARE more smart people than dumb ones, at least for now. Americans need to learn to think for themselves again instead of sucking up the pablum that's put before them!!! -
Celebrities' Hands Reveal Their True Age (Stylelist (Main))
Jun 11th 2010 3:45PM ROFLMAO! The comments are better than the article! There's just one seious drawback to the "Dermaroller". If you're a redhead or a person of color, everyting that breaks the skin is likely to leave a scar...I'm 47 and you can still see where my cat scratched me when I was a kid!
I agree with the hands telling the story of your life. No one lies about their age anymore, anyway. -
Garter Belts Get Sales Boost Thanks to Celebrity Influence, Weather (Stylelist (Main))
Jun 11th 2010 3:30PM I agree with Carole and Mary Rose. The only time I've ever used those stupid things was in the bedroom, or once on Halloween! They are impractical and stupid looking. Celebrities either get paid a pile of money to promote fashions, or get to play out their fantasies on stage or at public events. Garter belts are a total waste of money. If you must buy one, get it at a discount store.

Opinion: My Daughter's a High-School Dropout and I'm Totally Okay With It (ParentDish)
May 28th 2010 4:34PM My youngest son scored 140 on an IQ test at the age of 7. At 13 he began to lose his concentration. At 16 he had a nervous breakdown over it. That same year he and I took the Mensa test and were accepted. He pushed through his junior year of high school doubling up classes to graduate early. He didn't graduate. His teachers were extremely helpful and supportive. They tried desperately to get his work to a passable level so he could have a diploma. This was the same school where my older son was pushed out because he didn't fit in. To this day I can't understand the paradox.
My father graduated from high school at age 11 and went to college. He lied about his age and enlisted in the Navy at 14 in 1941. He shipped out to the South Pacific at 15 and served on the Hornet. He joined U.S. Mensa around 1962.
My point is, public schools are set up to serve the average person. Many people just don't fit this mold. It's a real blessing that you don't need a high school diploma to get into college anymore.
By the way, my older son got his GED, joined the Army and is now attending college while serving his country. My eldest child did well in school. She served 8 years in the Army Reserves while earning a Bachelor's degree. She is now working and planning to get a master's. -
Is Asian Carp the Next Sustainable Fish? (Slashfood)
May 27th 2010 3:48PM What about gutting them, then cooking and breaking out the meat like canned tuna? The store brand stuff at Wal-Mart is all disintegrated and mushy. This couldn't be any worse. I do like the pet food and fertilizer ideas.

Rielle, Oprah and Zen: America's Truth-Off (Politics Daily)
May 3rd 2010 6:40PM WTF? The only thing I see is the further descent of American culture into a soap opera world of foolishness. No DECENT people to be found.
