• Pepsi Skinny Can Back, This Time at Burger Bash 2011 (Slashfood)

  Feb 25th 2011 2:38PM I don't think the Pepsi Skinny Can is going to catch on. My prediction is that it will only do well if fans of the soda start drinking it in 'hip' spots like bars, nightclubs, or promoted events. However, as a complement to a greasy burger I can understand why Pepsi would choose the Burger Bash as an event to sponser. While the soda boasts little calories which seems foolish to accompany foods that don't so much take caloric content into account, not all soda lovers prefer the original recipe. I can personally account for those that like the taste of diet cola better than regular cola (I didn't always, I admit, but I do now!) If I were at the Burger Bash gorging on tasty calorie ridden foods for the evening I'd want soda to be my beverage at choice- diet soda.

• Will A K-Cup Help Starbucks Rule the Coffee World? (Slashfood)

  Feb 17th 2011 9:23AM Strategically, this is a great idea for Starbucks. While coffee lovers usually perfer the taste of other coffee over the taste of Starbucks coffee, there is still a huge market for people who love the convenience and novelty of Starbucks. I, too, prefer the taste of Green Mountain to Starbucks drip coffee but if they can replicate their success with other instant coffee products like they have with VIA it would seem a no brainer for them to run with the idea. I just hope they thnk to develop K-cups that taste better than what you get in store!
