  • Holy Sugar Shock! Mars partners with Dunkin Donuts (That's Fit)

Jan 26th 2008 3:12PM Holy SUGAR SHOCK! is such an apt response to learning about these super-sweet-but-dangerous new concoctions. Nightmare is a good way to describe it!

FYI, thanks the heads-up on this sugary development, which I posted about, too, here at http://www.sugarshockblog.com/2008/01/holy-sugar-shoc.html

I just hope that lots of people read your post, because it's so unsafe to consume such sugary foods and drinks!
My hope is that people don't fall prey to these dishes too often!

  • Kicking the sugar habit (That's Fit)

Jun 7th 2007 12:13PM I have many pointers to offer you on how to kick your sugar habit since I used to be a sugar addict myself back in 1998 and I now specialize in helping people lick their habit. I'll quickly share 2 pointers:

When you're tempted by a cookie, chocolate, donut or some other so-called "goodie," just delay doing anything. You can have some fun and just challenge yourself. You're basically doing a fun form of creative procrastination. (You can find an article I wrote about this on my www.SugarShockBlog.com.)

Another valuable tactic is to just see yourself free of the habit. Imagine yourself easily, successfully walking by a bakery or ice cream store or happily saying no when offered desserts by a well-meaning friend of loved one.

You can find a whole bunch more helpful tips and tactics to kick your sugar habit at:
    1) My website, www.SugarShock.com;
    2) My blog, www.SugarShockBlog.com, and
    3) In my book SUGAR SHOCK!

Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

All the best. Just remember that you can do it! And you'll feel better, too! The benefits of kicking sugar are just tremendous!

  • What can you do with a sweet potato? a few ideas (That's Fit)

Dec 23rd 2006 7:00PM It's nice to see an article promoting the sweet potato, which is, in my opinion, absolutely scrumptious and sweet.

FYI, I'm linking to your article on my blog.

The recipes you provide seem interesting, but I'm not a fan of using cream or brown sugar as in the mango chutney recipe.

FYI, another thing to do with a sweet potato is to bake it, pour over a small amount of flax oil and then lightly sprinkle some cinnamon on top. Yum!

  • Gwyneth Paltrow chooses death over Cup-A-Soup (Slashfood)

Aug 30th 2005 1:27AM I think you're being horribly unfair to Gwyneth Paltrow to assert that she "gets irrationally dramatic around convenience foods." Likewise, the New York Daily News overdid it, too, in my opinion. Sure, Paltrow's comments were not insensitive to junk-food lovers on her movie set, but to cite her Cup-a-Soup remarks as a reason to dislike her is just outright absurd. I do hope that you were simply joking on your post! By the way, I wrote about this, too, on my http://www.sugarshockblog.com/2005/08/gynweth_paltrow.html Connie

  • It was 7 years ago today... (Blog Maverick)

Jul 22nd 2005 9:30PM Mark, What a great story... You really set the scene and made the whole experience wonderfully suspenseful. I was right there with you, hoping that your stock shot through the roof! Now, that's a clever writer -- someone who can snag you so that you're there to the very end... Didn't matter that it happened 7 years ago. Strange, I had my own Eureka moment 7 years ago, too. Connie
