Slashfood Ate (8): Homemade Ice Cream (Slashfood)
Jun 20th 2008 2:32PM My favorite is a Stewarts Shops (NY chain) flavor, Crumbs Along The Mohawk, described on the carton as "graham cracker flavored ice cream liberally sprinkled with graham cracker pieces and laced with a caramel swirl."

New super oven from Electrolux to the rescue (Slashfood)
Mar 31st 2008 4:31PM Hmm - A "GPS Navigator" for the kitchen? Might be useful for some, but it seems like overkill to me. Baking isn't that hard, is it?

Schmaltz-less chopped liver (Slashfood)
Dec 12th 2007 12:26AM Mmmm...delicious. My mom used to make gribbenes when I was a little kid, and I haven't had them for a very long time. But chopped liver is simply delicious as a comfort food and a holiday treat.

Sarah's most random uses for sriracha (Slashfood)
Jul 12th 2007 1:23PM I've even seen bottles of sriracha for sale at Target, in the condiment aisle. I've heard there are flavored varieties available, too - garlic, extra-hot, shrimp; with caps in different colors, not the usual red - but I haven't seen them in Chicago, even in the Asian groceries I frequent. Maybe I should try a Vietnamese or Thai grocery?

Friday Happy Hour: Help name this cocktail (Slashfood)
May 4th 2007 5:30PM Actually after reading your description once more, I think the "Sean Connery" might be more appropriate?

Let's help Dunkin' Donuts with their logo (Slashfood)
Mar 13th 2007 3:43PM I propose a different, animated logo: the two "D"s in Dunkin Donuts abutted back-to-back (one flipped horizontally) to create a rotating orange-and-pink treadwheel, with an outline map of the U.S. jogging atop it, coffee and doughnut in "hand": the perfect "rat race" symbol!

Kanye West to receive $3900 meal (Slashfood)
Mar 6th 2007 3:21PM $3900 may seem like a big financial hit, but the collateral publicity for British Raj is...almost priceless! ;)
True story: several years ago my better half drove to Chicago (from Northern New York, about 1000 miles each wat), purchased a complete meal from Raj Darbar (our favorite Indian restaurant), packed it in a cooler with dry ice, and drove back so we could enjoy it together. That's love...and that's good Indian food! -
The King's burger throne (Slashfood)
Feb 20th 2007 4:52PM I just noticed the throne instructions show ketchup being used to "cement" the fries together...is it just me, or would that just look incredibly gory? It looks like a Whopper's death scene.
