  Apr 13th 2010 11:25AM I will stack plates if they are the exact same size, because they stack easily; also, I try to put everyone's silverware on one plate because I know that helps (tricky to stack even identical plates when there's a fork in between!).
  
  But it's actually been awhile since I've done that, servers usually get unused plates away from me as each one finishes lately.

  Feb 24th 2010 12:39PM You should ask yourself why you don't think the Stars and Stripes represents the south. Or fly your state flag if you want to honor your southern state. Even if your parents are from different states, just get one for each. You have many flags to choose from, all of which honor the south without being hateful. Why do you pick the flag associated with slavery and racists?

  Feb 24th 2010 12:36PM No one is saying he doesn't have the RIGHT to fly any flag he pleases. We're saying it's a stupid, dumb, and hateful flag to fly. Of course he has the right to be stupid, dumb, and hateful, but why would you want to be?

  Feb 24th 2010 12:31PM The difference is that the Christian cross is 99% of the time used for good, honest, peaceful, caring ways. The Confederate flag has ALWAYS been used by bigots to promote bigotry and/or racism. It wasn't JUST the Civil War. That same flag was used to protest every civil rights bill, used at lynchings, used at pro-Jim Crow rallies, used consistently for a century at every opportunity as a symbol of the oppression of black people.
  
  It is the American equivalent to the swastika, and it should be retired to the dustbin of history like the swastika.

  Feb 24th 2010 12:17PM Thanks, I am perfectly aware of the difference between the stars and bars and the flag that is commonly flown. In fact I probably know more than most people about it - for example, I know that the flag flying over the restaurant in question is NOT the actual battle flag (a very similar design but the actual battle flag was square, not rectangular).
  
  That's why I said I don't want to see ANY Confederate flag. ALL of their flags represent treason.
