I would love an Earthship home, very cool.
Oct 31st 2007 6:07PM Why would I want to own the first season of Dexter on DVD? Why wouldn't I? Dexter was the best show on TV last year based on one of the best books that I've ever read.
Oct 28th 2006 2:56PM Thanks for spreading the word, and for linking my Blogher post. :-)
Oct 18th 2006 12:17PM Dexter hates funerals because he doesn't really care about death - it's killing he loves. At a funeral, there's nothing for him - all that emotion, he doesn't get that and he has a hard time faking it.
This episode, very good. Still sticking pretty true to the book, which is nice.
Oct 11th 2006 11:30AM Do you want me to tell you who the ice truck killer is? Because anyone who has read the Dexter books (like me) knows.... heh. There is some backstory that you have not been given on the show at this point in time but it will come to you soon, I think. But then again, depending on how they provide it, you may completely miss it. I can give you a hint if you like.
When I first read this review, I hadn't seen the episode so I was confused by the wish for sub-titles. Now that I've seen it, I agree - I need sub-titles, or to grab the darn book and see if they help us out a bit there (though I do not remember that particular scene from the book - probably because it wasn't any big deal to the plot).
I adore Dexter and if you like him, you should really consider reading the books - though that will give away the ice truck murder. The books are even better than the show - and that is saying something because the show is excellent.
Sep 21st 2006 4:21PM Ummm folks, peanut butter and mustard are the BEST. In fact that is the only way to eat a peanut butter sandwich. Sheesh.
Feb 25th 2006 8:53AM Can I tell you what is more troubling to me than either naughty or bad - ugly.
I do not know how many times I've had to bite my tongue when hearing parents describe a child's behavior as ugly. What's more interesting is they seem to do it more toward girls than toward boys.
Don't we have enough problems with body image and expectations of beauty without having to toss that into the mix?
If you're a parent who says this - would you cut it out? And take a minute to think about whether you are using the word ugly to describe your sons' behavior or just your daughters'.
Jan 19th 2006 7:05AM Denise here from the Daily Dose - and those recipes most definitely do fit into virtually any healthy diet - whether you're trying to lose weight or maintain your weight. They fit because they've been LIGHTENED and are not as high calorie or high fat as the more traditional version. :-)
Thanks for a fun game, can't wait til next month's theme.
