The 10 Most Unnecessary Food and Drink Inventions (Slashfood)
Mar 21st 2011 7:26AM I don't think some of the things on that list are that useless. Sporks maybe silly but they do have uses, garlic presses aren't useless. On the other hand they have pressure cookers on their essential list and I really can't see how they're that essential. Yes they are a time saver, but things done with them can be done without them. The list just seems a bit snooty and random, and this is coming from a food snob.

10 Cooking Techniques You Need to Know (Slashfood)
Jan 28th 2011 3:49AM Most of the list looks like "neat things you can do with shellfish". If you don't cook or eat shellfish due to living far inland, cultural, or having allergies this list is far less useful to you.

What Can I Get You Folks? - Speaking of the Menu (Slashfood)
Dec 4th 2009 8:10AM I absolutly cannot stand verbal menus. Ususaly after the first two or three dishes I loose track of what goes with what and I like time to be able to think about what I want to order as well as see prices. I feel very put on the spot if I don't have a chance to actually read the menu with, hopefully at least somewhat detailed descriptions.
I'm also an expat living in a country where I only sort of speak the language, but read it very well. Written menus give me the time to actually parse what the dishes are and to order in the local language without making an ass of myself. -
What Can I Get You Folks? - The Eternal Ketchup Quandary (Slashfood)
Nov 4th 2009 9:22AM I've seen katusp explode onto the person at the table next to me at a resturant. It wasn't pretty. Why not just use the bottles until they are nearly empty and then either clean and refill them or replace them? I'm honestly not sure most custormers will object to, or notice half empty katsup bottles.

Hulu Says Goodbye to Free Entertainment (Cinematical)
Oct 23rd 2009 8:30AM I'd consider paying if they make the content avalible here in Norway. Until then I won't really miss seeing the hulu message that the content isn't avalible here when people inbed videos.

Discerning Omnivore Michael Pollan's 'Rules to Eat By' (Slashfood)
Oct 9th 2009 2:49AM A lot of the veggie burgers aren't healthy patties made out of veggies though, and neither are a lot of the other meat subsitutes. Some of them are very high in fat, some of them are little more then processed soy protein and gluten. Some of course, are actually made from whole grains and vegtables, but it is hard to tell the difference for a lot of people.
Just because something is vegitarian doesn't mean its healthier. -
Mighty Battle: Hunter and Mage Tier 9 sets (WoW)
Jul 22nd 2009 5:24AM Its still the wrong colors for draenei, they're mostly dominated by purple and bronze, not blue and gold which are still the human colors.

Mighty Battle: Hunter and Mage Tier 9 sets (WoW)
Jul 22nd 2009 3:10AM Ugh, just ugh. The alliance hunter set is aweful.. T7/7.5 is lovely for hunters.. dark molted colors, looks like mail, and looks like something you'd actually slink around and say.. hunt beasties in. T8 wasn't bad, if you have show helm off. T9 looks like the bad old days of alliance pvp mail and t2 when the colors were just too garishly bright. There is also something that bothers me about putting my poor Night Elf in bright Stormwind blue and gold. Alliance hunters are only dwarves and NE's, so why not make it more of a dwarf/NE themed set for the alliance set?

The dying Hunter? (WoW)
Jul 21st 2009 7:17AM I've been playing a hunter for the most part since wow1. I have been BM since wow1, and have always been at or near the top of the dps and dmg done simply becasue I had to prove my worth and my value and because back in the day half of our MM hunters used to run around autoshooting since "as long as they gave the rogues trueshot aura" it was okay. One of the real discouragers for playing a hunter is the word that has come up here so many times - huntard. If you are called nasty names no matter how geared you are, no matter how hard you work, no matter how polite and helpful you are to everyone, and no matter how willing you are to do every crap job, its discouraging. Its upsetting and its unnecessiarly insulting. No other class, no matter how much they deserve it or not get this.
I've seen rogues pull 1300dps in Naxx at level 80, I've seen dps warriors decide they're tanks and try to start randomly pulling because they're bored and the people who get blamed are often the hunters. As a sidenote, most of the DKs in my guild are rerolled rogues.
Playing a lot of classes is "easy", but playing them well is hard, and the old adage for hunters has always been, easy to play, hard to play well and I think that still holds true.
Honestly though if I were looking at class ballance I would wonder more about the increasingly high numbers of (at least on my server) paladins and the almost utter and total lack of rogues. I'd wonder where all of the bears went.
In TBC, I played a feral druid tank and I still would be if I hadn't of destroyed the tendons in my wrist tanking. There is a lot less twich movement needed to play a ranged class, so its still playable with my bum wrist.
