  • Spicy Sriracha Mayonnaise - Feast Your Eyes (Slashfood)

Oct 14th 2009 10:14AM I don't know if it is unique, but I love mixing the sauce with sour cream, it makes a delicious dipping sauce for tortilla chips, or a great topping for tacos. I've also mixed it in with cottage cheese and sharp cheddar spread for a cracker topping.

  • Dairy Queen Midnight Truffle Blizzard (Slashfood)

Apr 27th 2009 3:34PM I have tried to give in to the advertising and try this confection 3 different times, and each time they have been out of the 'candy' for the midnight truffle blizzard. Bah humbug. Denied the sweet treat.

  • Is Outback Ahead of the Game? (Slashfood)

Feb 26th 2009 9:17AM Are you sure the french onion soup is gone? The side of au jus that comes with the new steak filet sandwich is actually a mix of their french onion soup and their standard au jus, so I'm surprised they'd get rid of one of the components.

  • 25 Things - A Foodie List (Slashfood)

    Feb 17th 2009 12:41PM I couldn't agree more re: natto
That was one of the nastiest things I have ever eaten. I still remember that horrid taste and it's been nearly 2 decades since I last had it.

Thanks for sharing the list, it was a very amusing read. #25 made me go "awwww". Sometimes the internet really does work!

  • Freezer Funny Business (Slashfood)

Jan 15th 2009 11:16AM I don't know if this is the cause, but I know that when I make stocks or soups to freeze, I will lay them flat on a tray (or trays) and freeze them in a single layer. Once they're frozen, then I move them around and stack them and shove them to the back of the freezer (till I forget them....). Maybe that process will help here. The one time I tried freezing them in stacks I got a gloopy mess instead of a hunk of hard soup.

  • Would you bring your own bread to a restaurant? (Slashfood)

Oct 7th 2008 10:58AM I may carry in a bottle of water, but there is no way I'd bring in bread, that just seems very rude and elitist.

  • Nazuki, Georgian spice bread (Slashfood)

Oct 2nd 2008 7:26PM Sounds yummy! I may have to make some this weekend, I was trying to figure out what my bread-of-the-weekend would be, this fits the bill nicely :-)

  • Banana Split Creme Oreos (Slashfood)

Sep 12th 2008 6:10PM I've seen them at local Atlanta area Publix supermarkets too (as of a month ago or so), I've managed to resist buying them since then I'd have a whole thing of oreos to do something with. I did try the strawberry milkshake version they had late last year and it was pretty good.

  • Will McDonald's double cheeseburger wind up cheese-less? (Slashfood)

Aug 6th 2008 12:25PM They'd do better just raising the price, depending on how much they would raise it anyway. If they made it cheese-less, either people would stop ordering it or they'd order it with cheese and raise holy heck with the poor cashiers about being charged extra for cheese. The cashiers get enough grief, they don't need to give the customers another reason to complain.

  • The best chocolate milk you can find in a bottle (Slashfood)

Jul 18th 2008 12:09PM Mmmmmm Cocio. I'd forgotten all about that. I used to drink it when I lived in new england as a child. It was great, though it wasn't available everywhere. It didn't have that chalky taste that a lot of prepackaged chocolate beverages have. Some folks likened it to YooHoo but the only thing in common with that somewhat vile drink was the color.
