What Can I Get You Folks? - Eating Out for Thanksgiving (Slashfood)
Nov 23rd 2009 3:48PM "No matter. For restaurant servers on Thanksgiving, it's not just about the guests. And, for that, I am profoundly thankful."
For someone who hates restaurant patrons so much, you should really not be a waitress. I shudder to think what you've done to others' food, no matter how much you deny it. Nasty woman.
And I'm sorry, when did you ever work in an office? I've worked in many offices, and had good friends and a work "family" at all. For someone in such a lowly field of work, you love to put others down and try to make yourself seem like all that. Geez. Get a freaking life. -
What Can I Get You Folks? - The New York Times Takes on Service Rules (Slashfood)
Nov 6th 2009 4:24PM Oh my gosh, and I'm sorry for commenting twice, but I must have missed Rule 93 the first time around. "Do not play brass — no brassy Broadway songs, brass bands, marching bands, or big bands that feature brass, except a muted flugelhorn." EXCEPT A MUTED FLUGELHORN!?! That kills me. Maybe this list is satire...

What Can I Get You Folks? - The New York Times Takes on Service Rules (Slashfood)
Nov 6th 2009 4:12PM I can understand Rule 42. "Do not compliment a guest’s attire or hairdo or makeup. You are insulting someone else." You left off that last important part. Once a host at a restaurant complimented my dress, and the friend I was with was infuriated and jealous, and it soured the evening. Although, I do believe that the fellow was drunk... maybe that's Rule 100? Don't serve while tipsy?
But yeah, some of these rules seem pretty strange... I've dined at some very swanky places in L.A., and no one ever steamed off my wine bottle label, and I wasn't pissed about that. Who is this guy? Gael Greene? -
Guy Fieri Insulted by Bourdain and Chang, Then Pecked to Death by Birds (Slashfood)
Oct 12th 2009 1:23PM I posted pretty much exactly what Amanda said before her comment, but it didn't get through the filter, I suppose. Guy is a doofus. Even he knows that he's over the top and crazy, and as such, is subject to criticism and plenty of people poking fun at him. He's a celebrity, for crying out loud. He doesn't need to be defended. Everyone in the spotlight has to be able to take prods and jibes, and like Kat said, Guy's laughing his way to the bank. So good grief, learn how to decipher basic sarcasm, or at least find a sense of humor.

What Can I Get You Folks? - Gesturing Toward Better Service (Slashfood)
Sep 15th 2009 12:46PM I would prefer never to HAVE to gesture, but sometimes a server isn't checking the table often enough and I have to get their attention somehow. Making eye contact should work, right? It rarely has, in my experience. If I have been waiting for ten minutes for my server to refill a drink or bring the check, I will try to get his/her attention with a very timid wave and a smile. I've never had anyone seem to take offense.

Politics of the Plate: Salmongate (Slashfood)
Sep 9th 2008 9:07AM I liked this post. And Michael, it is food related. Oh, and Michael, Bernie never said he left the comment before reading. He expressed his feelings on Palin as they were *even* before reading the article. Learn how to read the English language, Michael. It's what about half of us speak in the America you claim to love. I hope you enjoyed being the d*bag to leave that comment!
Slashfood: keep it coming! Some of us don't mind articles that don't contain recipes, yet still relate to what winds up on our plates. -

Top Chef: Bring home the bacon (Slashfood)
Jun 5th 2008 10:16AM It WAS satisfying to see Stephanie and Richards' reactions to Lisa's confrontation. There is no way she can win; I'm not worried about that at all. Unlike Marcel, whom I was worried about in the last round, Lisa doesn't have the skill. She's ALWAYS subpar, if not awful. She should have been eliminated many rounds ago, and she's clearly only there for diversity and adversity.
Most satisfying moment? Bravo.tv's texting poll results that showed up during the break, showing that 91% of viewers wanted Lisa elimiated. Take that, ho.
