I mean, I know your job probably has all sorts of minor annoyances, as does mine, but I think some perspective would be helpful. People who badger waitstaff for refills are jerks - people who ask politely are not. It's really the CUSTOMER you loathe, not the free refill policy. -
Restaurant Music Volume - Ambience with a Side of Hearing Loss (Slashfood)
May 16th 2009 9:06AM Music blaring at club volume levels in retail stores is quite possibly my #1 pet peeve. I have walked out of stores simply due to noise many times. Restaurants fall under the retail category in my book.
Anyway, I get irritated almost to the point of anger when I'm greeted by blaring music while shopping/eating and it seems to be getting more and more common. Don't get me wrong - I actually love music and appreciate it loud - at HOME, in the CAR, and various other appropriate situations. -

May 16th 2009 8:58AM All this time I've been buying pre-ground Chock Full O'Nuts coffee in a can and brewing it in a drip machine...and all this time, it's been awesome. Huh.
I use my Bodum to cold brew iced coffee in the summer. It's a vast improvement on the jar method. -

May 4th 2009 5:49PM This is a ridiculous waste of money - whether it tastes good or not. Just cold brew a few jars of your own and keep them on hand in the fridge. Add water if you like, or not, and drink it over ice.
After trying this method, I will never drink cooled
'hot' coffee again. -

Mar 21st 2009 6:36PM Pineapple jelly and chili sauce is the best. You can even add some canned pineapple chunks with the meatballs if you feel like getting crazy.
