  • Toyota's unstoppable Land Cruiser turns 60 (Autoblog)

Feb 2nd 2011 8:54PM Right, like the current Land Cruiser resembles an FJ40 in any sort of form or function.

I'd take my 2008 FJ over any current production 4x4, in any terrain.

Anyone who has also had a body-on-frame 4x4 in a sideways opposite-lock drift on a dirt road at 40mph and then drove it through water up to its frame rails crossing a pond on the same day is welcome to add comments. If not, please stay in the Civic discussion forums.

  • Report: Sirius considering rate increase to $12.95/month (Autoblog)

Jan 27th 2011 8:45AM I've been with XM since 2006 and have moved to Sirius after purchasing a Flex that had Sirius.

You can laugh at their $150/year rate when they inevitably call to renew. The retention department will give you a $88/year rate to renew and a further 30% off any other subscriptions. I'm paying $150 (including fees) for two radios, but I'll have to renegotiate every year. They also sent me a Stratus 6 tuner for my second car for $13.

Ask them to bill you so you can pay via check and they can't auto renew your account at the higher rate.

All the ideas about eliminating commercials and dropping prices are 100% correct, BTW.

  • 2012 Nissan NV to start at $24,590* (Autoblog)

Dec 21st 2010 4:52PM Sprinters are very popular among pro cycling teams, especially among downhill and cyclocross riders who cherish them for their cavernous capacity and flexible configurations. I'd imagine the same is true for motocross and grand prix motorcycle teams. This has some future in that area.
I'd like to see some synergy between Nissan and Kuat Bike racks, who already make an outstanding bike rack called the NV. Might save Nissan from a trademark dispute, too.

  • Video: EVO's Chris Harris takes on the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (Autoblog)

Dec 2nd 2010 4:51PM I'd like to meet the genius producer that decided it would be a great idea to put the $10,000 tires on gravel.

  • Espresso Served in the Bike Lane (Slashfood)

    Nov 1st 2010 1:52PM Don't believe it.
Real espresso requires some serious power, usually in the form of high amp 220V. Even if the roof is covered in solar cells, there wouldn't be enough battery storage in that thing to run the machine in the photo.

Expect vacuum pot coffee that's hours old. Better to go to your local shop and get it fresh.

  • Porsche Cayenne named Motor Trend Sport/Utility of the Year via Facebook [w/video] (Autoblog)

    Oct 19th 2010 11:10AM Pure blasphemy.

  • Report: Ford to book $2.6B second-quarter profit (Autoblog)

Jul 23rd 2010 8:08PM Haha! I wish! I rode in my sister's 2009 Enclave for a 2 day trip and took home a 2010 for 2 day test drive. Got under the dash with a flashlight, slid underneath the chassis on my back and dug around inside for an afternoon and I figured out what they did with all that leftover Pontiac plastic.

I'm still glad that the last GM I bought was a 69 Cutlass.

  • Report: Ford to book $2.6B second-quarter profit (Autoblog)

Jul 23rd 2010 8:44AM Hope the Tuxedo Black Flex we just bought will help.
We tried the Buick Enclave. I could deal with the typical GM cheap plasticky bits and overall poor build quality, but the dealer/salesman SUCKED!
On the other hand, the Ford dealer was nothing but cool and helpful and the Flex is beautiful with great build quality. Sealed it.

    Nice job, Ford.

  • Video: Chrysler PT Cruiser production ends today, Sha Na Na sends it out with a song (Autoblog)

Jul 9th 2010 3:36PM How will we spot all the horrible drivers if they have no PT's to drive?

Oh yeah, they've already moved to HHR's.

  • Mini challenges Porsche to race at Road Atlanta [w/video] (Autoblog)

Jun 8th 2010 1:16PM I think they have no expectation of beating the Porsche. They just want to challenge it, which is something their direct competitors have not done.

Someone considering an A1 will look at the Mini and think "Well, that one only lost to a Carrera by 10 seconds."

    Genius.
